"

You are calling yourself
worthless and weak again
because you feel like
you are taking too long to heal
too long to be ‘normal’ again
and it makes me ache inside
to watch you tear yourself
down this way.

Because you are neither
worthless nor weak.

What about all the tremendous wars
you have been fighting within yourself
whilst the rest of the world sleeps?

What about the battle cries that echo
in your mind from fighting fearsome demons
made of pain and damage and destruction?

What about all the heartache
you have survived,
that you have pulled yourself through?

You are stronger, stronger
than anyone gives you credit for.
Stronger than even you know.

So your survival is different,
your survival demands more
to heal your pain.

Healing has never been a straight road, love.
It contains the steepest mountains and valleys
and the deepest of oceans.

Repeat after me:
Healing is not horizontal
and I am allowed to take my time.

Healing is not horizontal
and I am allowed to take my time.

Healing is not horizontal
and I am allowed to take my time.

My therapist and I decided that from now on, when I’m thinking something negative about myself, I’m going to imagine that Donald Trump is saying it, because it’s really easy for me to just tell him to fuck off.

Example:

Trump: “Your thighs are fat.”
Me: “Fuck you and your fucking wall.”

I think we’re onto something here.

this is probably the best coping skill I’ve ever seen and I am ten billion percent going to use it too

"No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite."

sometimes people who are sad dont always need the “it gets better talk”

sometimes people just want to hear “you are sad, you are trying your best, and it’s okay. you’re okay and you’re alive and that’s a big accomplishment”

because i know for myself unconditional optimism gets really fucking annoying. sometimes i just want to be sad and have it be okay that im sad.

don’t make me feel weirder than i already do in my own skin.

This is true not only of sadness. Illness fits just as easily.
